German darts players - old and new

German darts players have been steadily gaining prominence in the international darts scene over the past few years. Germany has hosted the PDC World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt and also more recently in Hamburg. But who are the most prominent German darts players?

Max Hopp is the most well-known German darts player, having risen to prominence in recent years. He is known as the "Maximiser" and became the youngest ever winner of a PDC event in 2015 when he won the German Darts Championship. Hopp has continued to perform well on the professional circuit, and he also represented Germany at the World Cup of Darts.

Another top German darts player is Gabriel Clemens. He is known as "The Giant" due to his 6'6" stature. Clemens has had several impressive performances on the PDC tour, including reaching the quarterfinals of the 2020 World Championship. He has also represented Germany in the World Cup of Darts.

Martin Schindler: Martin Schindler is a young and promising German darts player who has been making waves on the international stage. He first came to attention at the 2017 PDC World Championship when he defeated 16-time world champion Phil Taylor in the first round. Schindler has continued to perform well and has represented Germany in the World Cup of Darts.

Nico Kurz is another young German darts player who has been making a name for himself on the international stage. He became the first German player to win the World Youth Championship in 2019, and he also made his World Championship debut that same year. Kurz has continued to perform well on the professional circuit and is seen as one of Germany's most promising young players.

Rene Eidams is a former BDO World Championship quarterfinalist who made the switch to the PDC in 2016. He has had some impressive performances on the professional circuit, including reaching the quarterfinals of the 2017 European Darts Open.

This year the World Cup of Darts with a £450,000 prize fund will take place in June at Frankfurt's Eissporthalle from June 15th to June 18th.
