Christian Kist is a professional darts player from the Netherlands.
He was born on April 21st 1986, in Mariënberg, Netherlands. Kist's nickname is "The Lipstick" which comes from the audible similarity between his surname and the word "Kiss". Christian's walk-on music is “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. Kist’s right-handed playing style and ability to handle pressure have made him a respected figure in the darts community.
Wins the BDO World Darts Championship
He started playing darts in 1998 and has been competing in various tournaments since then. In 2012 he won the BDO World Darts Championship by defeating Tony O’Shea in the final. This victory made him the first Dutchman and first qualifier to lift the title since Jelle Klaasen in 2006.
Moves to PDC
Kist transitioned to the PDC in 2014 and has been participating in their events ever since. Kist has had notable performances in various tournaments; he reached the last 32 of the PDC World Championship in 2016 and made it to the last 32 of the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix in 2017.
Improvements in 2023
This year Christian has had a sharp uptick in his performance and results and is currently (October 2023) second in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit. His noteworthy results are a first place in Milton Keynes in January and two runners up positions : one in March in Hildesheim and the second in Milton Keynes in August.
